Day 1 of Clones: Cloning
Day 1 – Cloning
Clones are reproduced genetics that were clipped or “snipped” from an existing plant. When cloning is performed, it creates an opportunity to continue multiple generations from the same genetic. Cloning ultimately strengthens the genetic and eventually “peaks” to its full potential by the 5th generation when cultivated in the same environmet.
If you are unable to clone from an existing mature healthy plant, the only other option is to start from seed. Just make sure you plant quality seeds from a reputable source. Remember that females are the plants you want to grow, not males or hermaphrodites. Feminized seeds are an easy option if you are not comfortable with clones.
Check List:
- Get Environments ready to clone (check environment chart)
- Have all cloning materials ready
- Heat R.O water to 68-70 Degrees F.
- Add 15ml per gallon of clonex solution to the RO water and pH to 6.0
- Soak cubes for 10-15 minutes.
- Squeeze roughly 30% of moisture out of the cubes and place into the Grodan Smart Tray.
- Prepare clone gel and the fresh pair of scissors.
- Perform cloning procedures (refer to video.)
